The Voice Generations just finished up its first season on Australian TV. This new version of the format features groups with members from different age groups. This season’s winners were Caitlin and Tim, a father-daughter duo.
Caitlin and Tim Win ‘The Voice Generations’
Tim is 52, and his daughter Caitlin in 23. They were on coach Rita Ora’s team for the one-week competition. The show’s other coaches were Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy, and Guy Sebastian. Each team had just two groups, for a total of eight.
In their Blind Audition, Caitlin and Tim performed “Shallow” by Lady Gaga. Tim played guitar, and they both showed off strong voices. Caitlin’s powerful voice in particular inspired Ora to turn her chair, along with all three of her fellow coaches.
In the Battles, the duo performed “Say Something” by Great Big World, bringing Ora to tears. For the grand finale, Caitlin and Tim sang Sia’s “Alive.” Ora cheered them on from her chair as they belted out the song, earning applause from the crowd.

Who Are Caitlin and Tom?
In their Blind Audition, Caitlin and Tim shared that they’re from Melbourne. According to the Daily Mail, Caitlin lost her chance to become an Olympic gymnast due to an accident, and Tim has faced struggles of his own. They chose to do the show together to strengthen their relationship.
Tim said of his daughter, “When I perform on stage with Caitlin, I am in awe of her singing. It’s incredible.”
“Every time I’ve been with you both, you’ve seen me break into tears,” Ora told the duo. “It is genuine happiness at seeing how far you’ve both come and how much you love your daughter, and how much she loves her dad.”
Caitlin and Tim were named the winners, with student-teacher duo Jess and Kelsi coming in second place. The Voice Generations featured a prize of $100,000 and a recording contract with EMI.
