The curtains are up and Broadway is back! John Legend will help celebrate the 74th Annual Tony Awards, Broadway’s biggest night. The ceremony is set to air this Sunday, Sept. 26. The Voice coach will be joining the cast of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations on stage for a performance you won’t want to miss.

John Legend to Lead a Night Full of Big Performances at the Tony Awards

Legend won a Tony Award in 2017 for Best Revival of a Play due to his work as a co-producer of Jitney. In 2018, Legend attended the pre-Broadway engagement of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations in Los Angeles. Everything is coming full circle as the EGOT winner will finally perform with the cast.

The Tony Awards were originally scheduled for June 2020 but were postponed due to the pandemic. The ceremony will recognize performers and shows from the 2019-2020 season and will be broadcast in two parts. The first part of the Tony Awards will stream on Paramount+ at 7 p.m. ET. Most of the winners will be revealed during this stream which can be watched with a free one-week trial.
